About DALL·E 3 (retired)
DALL·E 3 was OpenAI's 2023 image generation model, widely used via ChatGPT and the Image API. OpenAI announced deprecation in November 2025 and removed dall-e-2 and dall-e-3 from the API on 2026-05-12. Requests with model dall-e-3 no longer succeed; there is no automatic fallback to a new model id.
